Teen - Clinical Exam

  • Review medical history with parent

  • Parents are welcome in the treatment room, or child may want to come back by themselves

  • Check for decay and dietary staining

  • Look for irregularities on the tongue and soft tissue

  • Enamel defects such as decalcifications, discolorations, and hypolasia

  • Make sure the child has all the appropriate teeth for their age, whether it be permanent or primary

  • X-rays will be taken on an as needed basis depending on their age and clinical findings during the exam

  • Are teeth erupting correctly?

  • Check for orthodontic problems

  • Look for wisdom teeth
